Lord, it was You that commanded us to raise up a child in Your name. Now we are faced with this child developing their own thoughts, their self worth, and occasionally rebellion.
As parents, friends and caretakers we want to raise this child in a godly manner. We want to teach them right from wrong, a moral conscience and spirituality that will take them to adulthood.
At times this child may test us and question the hierarchy of this process. Lord, we love this child and we ask You to direct us in raising them up.
We ask You Father, to make us humble, not superior.
We ask You Father, for daily wisdom.
We ask You Father, for patience at all times.
We ask You Father, that we may remain simple and speak as such as the child might understand.
We ask You Father, that we may never confuse this little one with our frustrations in our adult realm.
We ask You Father, that Christ might be a reality in their young life and that we, as well as others, might instruct them in which is pleasing to You.
We ask You Father, to bear in our minds their limitations without limiting or hindering them from succeeding.
There are so many things we might ask, Lord and so many expectations we have for this little one. We will trust You to give us the wisdom in raising this child up, and we will trust You in giving us the prayer words as the occasion arises in this little one's life.
We know that Jesus commanded us to bring the little ones to Him, and Lord, if we will obey, it shall be done for this generation and the next to come. We pray trusting Christ alone. Amen

Gracious God, we pray in the New Year. It's a new beginning. All of our past sins are forgiven. We resolve that from now on we're going to do things the way we should. We start this New Year calling upon You to be merciful.
Paul declared, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
Paul knew the value of a new beginning and putting the past behind us. He reached forth and pressed on in Christ as we must do also.
Some have had a traumatic year to overcome. Some are still in need of healing or comfort or forgiveness of their self or others. Some have let life and the devil batter them, and for these we pray that Your Holy Spirit may give them newness of life and joy and faith in this New Year.
Lord God, may we turn to You often this coming year. May we lean on You at every turn of the way. May we delight in Your Word and the gathering together with fellow believers. May we trust in You this year for the answer to many of our prayer requests that we have been waiting answer to. May we lead others to Your throne of grace. May we not be selfish in hoarding blessings for ourselves, but freely give to others. May we cherish each day that You have given us. May we have health, and peace and spiritual blessings beyond comprehension.
We are praying that this year be remembered as abundance in the Kingdom of God, and we pray that we will resolve to walk with You throughout the year. May we also be reminded daily to thank and praise You, even if we are troubled. We place our trust in You this coming year as we thank You now for all past favors and future ones given freely by You, in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen

Prayer For A Death (Homecoming)
Lord God, our beloved has passed from life into the gateway of death. It is not a time of uncertainty for us, but a time for rejoicing that this saint has now reached heaven safely and is in the bosom of Christ Jesus.
Our loved one dedicated their life to You and trusted in Your promise of eternal life through Christ. We rejoice that You are a Creator who has designed and planned our eternal habitation since before the foundation of the world.
We rejoice, Lord that all pain and suffering has ceased and that nothing but eternal bliss in Your Presence is now reality.
We rejoice, Lord for the assurance of Your Word which gave us glimpses of eternal life.
We rejoice, Lord that this loved one is now a great witness in heaven worshipping and praising You.
We rejoice, Lord that this loved one has done works that were gold, silver and costly stones and that these works will live on and follow them.
We rejoice, Lord that You are Almighty and will comfort all those that miss this beloved one.
We rejoice, Lord in all the memories we hold of our dearly departed. Preserve them for us and let us share them and celebrate them with others.
Thank You, God for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ and for the joy of knowing this child of Yours. We will never forget. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen

Prayer For A Death (Uncertain)
Father God the Almighty, we are reduced to great grief. Our comfort must come from You and what You have promised through Christ Jesus. We ask You to receive this loved one at this time of death.
Jesus proclaimed, "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you."
Lord, the family of this beloved one is in deep grief and uncertainty. We pray that there might be a glimmer of hope that this loved one found their way to You.
This family witnessed great and deep suffering and had many questions about Your will and why You would allow this to occur. They suffered along with the departed one. What cannot be understood right now, open our hearts so that we may someday see with clarity and understanding.
Even Jesus wept as does this family. Jesus wept at the news of death of His beloved friend, Lazarus. How much more do we? We learned that no one, Savior included escapes what is appointed to them. Your Word proclaims it is appointed once for man to die and then the judgment. Yet we know You so loved the world that You gave Your only begotten Son that whomsoever believed in Him would have eternal life.
We pray, O Comforter that eternal life that is with Christ be granted to this loved one that has departed.
We pray, O Comforter that the survivors might know the peace of Christ and a joyful reunion some day.
We pray, O Comforter that sense of mind and peace of spirit may be prevalent as the family of the departed goes through the grief process.
We pray, O Comforter for a sign that we can cling to that will ease our minds and spirit and gives hope eternal.
And Father God, let all that knew this loved one that has doubt of their eternal security turn to You right now, and accept Christ as their personal Savior so that they might never have this dreadful uncertainty attack them as it has others in this shadow of the valley of death.
We open our hearts to You and receive the blessings of those that mourn that You have promised through Your Word, the Bible, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen

Gracious God, we bring this request to You in behalf of those who are facing exams and tests. Essays and questions are upcoming which will stretch the command of the language enough so that it will mean pass or fail. Questions will be asked that will challenge the memory. Logic will become a premium.
We ask Lord, that you calm the student and give them peace during this time of examination.
We ask that You give them the appropriate thoughtful words and answers that is needed to pass.
We pray that the mind of Christ be upon them that they might have the confidence necessary to complete these tasks.
We pray for the favor from the teacher or instructor that they might not score the exam with any prejudice.
We ask that the time allowed to complete the exam be sufficient.
We pray that this is one of the test taker's finest moments and that they might display good results to the glory of God.
Bless, Lord God, in Your kindness and mercy, through Jesus Christ. Amen

Lord God, we are so saddened when a life never has the opportunity to touch others. This child indeed lives in our thoughts because the excitement of potential life has touched us. We plea for Your love to be upon this little one denied life. Wrap Your arms upon this beloved precious life.
We pray as this baby enters the portals of heavens, that Christ who loved little ones be there to welcome this special child who was more than just a thought in time. We do believe Jesus wraps His arms upon the lambs.
We pray for the heartache of parents, grandparents and friends who looked forward from the enrichment a baby brings.
God, our hearts have never known sorrow such as a life denied. Help us not to be comforting to the parents as that which is shallow. Instead we ask the Comforter to come and teach us through touch, through prayer, through support to be a witness that we stand with them all in their sorrow.
God, the Merciful, be with these parents as they touch the depth of grief. May the few moments they had of dreams and visions of this child sustain and keep them and motivate them to direct their energy to all Your little ones.
May Your love touch them as they go through the painful process of grief, and Lord God, if it be Your will, and Your timing, send them another little one that will not take this child's place, but will fulfill the longing in their hearts to raise a child in Your name.
We struggle to understand why this has happened, and perhaps we will never know this side of heaven, but grant us the vision of a joyful recognition and reunion in heaven that will ease all discomfort experienced now. We pray trusting the Lord Jesus. Amen

Almighty God, we bring before you today our local churches that are struggling with finances, weak attendance, discouragement and lack of power of the Holy Spirit.
We pray for those congregations that are not reaching out to the hurt. We pray for those that have been turned off by a local church. We pray for those that no longer find joy and excitement in gathering with other believers. We pray to see a fresh anointing and revival in our churches.
We ask that those congregations that are lukewarm begin to seek You for fresh and vibrant ideas and actions that will attract others to their doors. We ask that those within the confines of a church that is dying, be filled with Your Spirit and enthusiasm for reaching and greeting those that You place on their heart to come. We pray that their love for You and one another might touch lives and be a drawing card to the lost and the seeker alike.
We pray that in these last days that You send the latter day rain You have promised that Your Church might be as powerful as the early Church was. We ask that the Church be led by the power of the Holy Spirit, the joy of Jesus Christ and the fear and respect of God the Father.
May Your Church upon this earth become vibrant once more, touching lives and giving hope. May those that have had hurt feelings experience healing and strength when they attend a fellowship of believers. May You be honored and worshipped within these places of gathering and may Your Holy Church become an exciting experience for believers once more, in the name of our Savior, Christ Jesus we pray

Father God, we bring before You those that have not yet made Christ Jesus their Savior, and for those that do not have a personal relationship with Him. We especially pray for those that have not had the Good News yet presented to them.
As members of the Body of Christ we are exhorted to pray for the lost, to witness of the life changing power of Christ, and to be instant with the Word to them in season and out of season.
We are heavy in heart for those that have rejected Him and turned to the ways of the world. For those that are hardened in heart. For those that believe they can put off a decision until the closing of their life. For those who have been led astray by false gods and religion. And for those that claim the name of Christianity, yet have never made the decision to honor and serve Your Son.
We ask in Your mercy and by the Power of the Holy Spirit to tug at hearts that are far from You. We ask for laborers of the Good News to be sent to witness and pray for those that live without Christ. We ask You to burden our hearts to pray without ceasing for the lost and to avail us at every opportunity to turn these loved ones to You whether it be by our word or deed.
We give heed to Your warning in Ezekiel 3:18 "When I say to a wicked man, `You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood."
We ask You Lord to give us the tongue of an Evangelist and a spirit of gentleness and divine love in presenting the Gospel to those that do not yet accept Christ.
Save to the uttermost parts of the earth, O Lord, those that are not yet saved, in Jesus' name.

Prayer For The Terminally Ill
Heavenly Father, Your servant is in the preparation stage of returning to You. We are told that it is a glorious place where there will be no more pain and that You will wipe away all tears. We rejoice in Your will and way and commit them to Your hand.
Lord, You have a room prepared for Your child, as Jesus promised, and we ask You to be mindful of it as this loved one prepares to go.
Keep Your child free of pain and suffering. Grant instead Your peace, Your Presence , and Your solace.
Keep Your child safe in the shelter of Your arms as the body begins the shutting down process.
Give them presence of mind to be focused on You and forgive all trespasses.
Fill them with Your love and visions of the glory soon to be and help them to depart with dignity.
Be with those that love this person and grieve for this process. Let them know personally of the glory to be and comfort them as they wait for that moment. Help them to help this loved one to return to You in peace.
May the return of Your child's spirit be a glad homecoming and a time for the angels and witnesses to rejoice. May there be servants of Yours that gather to comfort the survivors and may You be glorified and honored through this person's homecoming. In Jesus' name. Amen
